BALLET

 

Joan Cerveró was appointed Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Ballet of Teatres de la Generalitat BTGV in the 2004 season, a position he held until the 2009. He also conducted classic and contemporary ballets for other companies, as the Ballet Nacional de España, collaborating with other choreographers and dancers as Jiri Kylián, Nacho Duato, Goyo Montero, Patrick de Bana, Thierry Malandain, Ohad Naharin, José Carlos Martinez, etc. and he has been very close to the Valencian choreographers such as Gustavo Ramírez, Asun Noales, Toni Aparisi, Inma García, Ana Luján, among others. The Ballet of Teatres de la Generalitat BTGV had its residence at Teatro Principal de Valencia and at this moment in the Palau de les Arts de Valencia.

As conductor Cerveró has taken the baton in several projects ballets as Tchaikovski’s The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty or Swan Lake, and other works, original or adapted as new choreographies, as Mozarts’ Requiem, Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez,  de Falla’s El Amor Brujo (L'Amour Sorcier/Love the Magician) or the Mass in B Minor of Johan Sebastian Bach among others. Also, he has presented with the BTGV his own compositions for ballet Estances in 2014. At this moment his activity is focused on the premiere of new commissions for dance, working together with young choreographers in projects that fusing music and technology.
